Nostalgia is a wonderful thing. Everyone loves getting wistful about old games, old experiences, old characters that they worshiped and cherished. It’s fun. What’s less fun is revisiting those old games and finding the flaws you’ve forgotten.(new Image()).src = 'https://capi.connatix.com/tr/si?token=995c4c7d-194f-4077-b0a0-7ad466eb737c&cid=872d12ce-453b-4870-845f-955919887e1b'; cnx.cmd.push(function() { cnx({ playerId: "995c4c7d-194f-4077-b0a0-7ad466eb737c" }).render("79703296e5134c75a2db6e1b64762017"); }); I recently re-bought the PS1 classic Final Fantasy IX to play on my Vita, and while it’s a great game, and I love being able to play it anywhere, it’s got one major crack that can’t be smoothed over: loading times. https://kotaku.com/let-s-rank-the-final-fantasy-games-best-to-worst-453100182 We’re looking at three to four seconds per new area.
